McMaster-Carr is one of the country’s oldest and largest privately held industrial distributors. 

Founded over 100 years ago, the company sells in excess of 500,000 unique items out of only five locations around the country, including a major full service facility in Aurora, Ohio.

The company distributes to tens of thousands of businesses without employing a sales force or advertising.  McMaster-Carr combines Amazon’s reputation for execution and delivery speed (same day or next day delivery throughout the US and Canada) with customer service and a return policy that is unique to just about any industry.

This is a company that rewrites the book on many of the lessons we learned in business school.
