Evening Event: Icebreaker featuring Conservation and Creativity

Please note the schedule and multiple locations

September 5, 2019

Location: UCA Conservation Center: 2915 Detroit Avenue
Ohio City Galley: 1400 West 25 St.

Please join old friends and make new ones at the 2019-2020 Icebreaker event for the Harvard Business School Club of NE Ohio.

ICA – Art Conservation was the nation’s first non-profit regional art conservation center founded in 1952 by six major midwest museums to provide professional, high quality, and cost effective art conservation services. The ICA was the model used by the National Endowment for the Arts, when it began dispersing start-up funding to create a network of similar centers across the United States in 1971.

For the first fifty years of its existence, ICA was on the campus of Oberlin College and provided a Master’s Degree in art con-servation through the college. That program was discontinued in 1978 but the ICA’s training, research, and degree program provided a significant contribution to the formation of a recognized group of professional conservators. Graduates and trainees have gone on to develop conservation laboratories at many institutions including the Cleveland Museum of Art, Indianapolis Museum of Art, and Balboa Art Conservation Center and continue to be leaders in today’s conservation field.

We will tour the newly renovated facility fitted with conservation laboratories and a climate-controlled art storage facility.

Ohio City Galley, the third food hall and restaurant accelerator from Galley Group, is the launch pad for the most exciting new restaurant concepts in Clevela

nd. The mission is to cultivate & accelerate aspiring restaurateurs by providing a forum to showcase their capabilities, hone their craft, develop business acumen, and build a cult following behind their concepts. We will enjoy the offerings of the four current culinary startups – TINMAN – POCA – SAUCE THE CITY – FOREST CITY STEAK (moving in next week)
