Employment History
Jim Hummer serves as the President and CEO of Whole Health
Management, an innovative provider of direct contract, on-site
employee health services. Whole Health contracts directly
with large Federal agencies and self-insured Fortune 1000
companies for the provision of occupational, preventive,
urgent and primary medical care services to employees and
family members. Whole Health also provides fitness, physical
rehabilitation, ergonomic, environmental health, safety
and employee assistance program services that are fully
integrated with the medical services provided. Prior to
founding Whole Health in 1987, Jim co-founded the Ivy Medical
Group, an ambulatory health care company. Since 1983, he
served as President until leaving to focus his efforts on
building Whole Health. Prior to this, Jim worked at Martin
Marietta Corporation where he served as the Director of
Planning and Human Resources for one of their worldwide
chemical divisions. Prior to attending Harvard Business
School, Jim worked on the audit staff of Deloitte, Haskins
& Sells (now Deloitte & Touche) in their San Francisco
office where he obtained his CPA.
Education:
Jim received his Bachelors in Business Administration,
with a concentration in accounting, from the University
of Notre Dame in 1976 and his Masters in Business Administration
from Harvard University in 1980.
Experience & Achievements:
Jim has been recognized as a leader in his field by his
peers and clients. Whole Health was selected as Employer
of the Year by the American Board of Occupational Health
Nurses and received the George M. Low Award from NASA, the
highest honor bestowed on a contractor. Whole Health has
the distinction of being the only non-aerospace company
ever to receive this award. Whole Health has also been selected
as one of the Best 99 companies to work for in Northeast
Ohio and has been identified as one of the fastest 100 companies
in Northeast Ohio.
Jim has served as Chairman of the Board for several community
and civic organizations including the Golden Age Centers
of Greater Cleveland (services for inner-city elderly),
Town Hall of Cleveland (internationally prominent speakers
series), the Harvard Business School Club of Cleveland and
EconomicsAmerica (K-12 economic education programs). He
also serves as a member of the National Council on Economic
Education Board of Founders (national education curriculum),
the Harvard Business School Alumni Association Board and
St. Ignatius High School Board of Regents.
Personal Interests:
Jim and his wife, Susie, have four children.
