Employment History:

Ethan Cohen is the Chief Technology Officer of MedQuist, the world’s largest provider of medical transcription services. Prior to joining MedQuist he was a consultant at McKinsey & Company from 1991 until 1997. He worked as a Consultant at Bain & Company from 1986 until 1989.

Education:

Ethan graduated with Distinction (Top 10% of class) from Harvard Business School in 1991. Ethan earned his A.B. from Harvard College where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in Applied Mathematics: Decision and Control Theory.

Experience & Achievements:

Ethan has spent a significant portion of his professional career focusing on the application of information technology to improve the internal efficiencies of business operations. Although his interest in operational efficiencies was derived from the manufacturing sector, much of his work has focused on the service sector. As a consultant, Ethan worked in the back offices of a number of super-regional banks. At MedQuist, he is redesigning the processes required to transmit information to and receive information from 8,500 employees, most of whom work out of their homes.

Personal & Family Interests:

Ethan enjoys aerobic activities including tennis, cycling, and running. He lives in Shaker Heights with his wife Gena (HBS ’91) and 3 children.
